Technology giant Samsung released a reasonable Android handset, Galaxy Star Pro, in the Indian market.
Samsung Galaxy Star Pro sports a 4.0-inch TFT WVGA screen with 480x800p resolution and runs on Android v4.1 OS Jelly Bean powered by a 1GHz single-core A5 processor. It packs 512MB RAM and 4GB inbuilt memory which can expand up to 32GB via microSD slot.
The new Samsung phone flaunts a 2.0-megapixel camera on the rear side and has support for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, EDGE/GPRS and micro-USB v2.0 port. It is presently available at e-retailer Home Shop 18 for ₹6,989 and will be made available in retail outlets soon.
The new Galaxy Star Pro will be pitted against Micromax Canvas Viva A72, Karbonn Smart A26 and Nokia's flagship Asha smartphone series.
